Karlie Kloss is the girl most girls wish they could be – the girl next door. She’s gorgeous in that very laid-back and down-to-earth manner that makes us all want to be her friend. She has the best friends, she’s successful, famous and she’s really doing it up as far as her life is concerned. She’s not messing around when it comes to her success, and we love her for it. Karlie Kloss is a little bit of everything that is amazing, and we adore her. This is why we want to know everything there is to know about her; it makes us feel more like we’re friends.
She’s a Midwestern girl
She was born in St. Louis and she grew up there, too. Midwestern life is all about being fun and laid-back, casual and awesome. She embodies that very well, and we like to think it’s because she’s just cool. She loves her roots and has no problem going home as often as she possibly can. She used to go to Chicago with her family to shop, and she never had a problem growing up in a place that wasn’t so much into high fashion or modeling. She loves it; it’s home.
She’s especially fond of Victoria’s Secret
Though she was but 15 when she began her high-fashion career in modeling, Karlie Kloss did not feel as if she really made it as a model until she became a VS Angel. Why? Because her friends and family and many people have no idea who major fashion designers are, never see their shows and never have a reason to look at their work, but everyone knows Victoria’s Secret.
She’s got a voice
Another reason she really loves the work she does for VS is because she feels it gives her a voice. She’s not saying she does not love her other clients and modeling for high-end designers all over the world; she adores that. However, being an Angel is something special, and it makes everyone who does it become a well-known face, voice and personality. If you’re an Angel, people really know your name.
She gets nervous
She’s a high fashion model with an outstanding career to her resume, but she still gets nervous. One thing that Karlie Kloss does is feel nervous when it’s her turn to walk the runway. She knows she’s fine, but she’s not so famous that she doesn’t get a little bit of the butterfly in the stomach feeling before she hits the runway. Modeling might seem easy to some, but it’s not always what it’s cracked up to be to others.
She brushes her teeth in the shower
This is genius, really. We are all so busy and we have to find as much time to do the things we need to do as possible. Sometimes that means putting on our makeup in the bathroom at the airport or in our seat on a plane. Sometimes that means waking up earlier to do things that you cannot do once the kids are out of bed. We need that precious time to get things done, so she brushes her teeth in the shower. She’s already there, and she’s already wet so it works for her.
She’s the face of Heavenly, but it’s not her favorite
Karlie Kloss knows she should tell everyone that she loves Victoria’s Secret Heavenly perfume because she is the face of the brand, but she does not love it most. She does love it, it just so happens that she really, really loves the VS 88 smell. It was what her older sister wore when they were growing up, and she wanted to be just like her older sister.
Gisele is her role model
Not only is she the first model to take the face of Heavenly for herself since Gisele, she is the model Kloss loves more than any other. She loves that she was chosen for this job so that she can be like her role model. She loves that Gisele has managed to make herself so relatable and so amazing at the same time, and she is looking to do the same for herself.
She wants to be a doctor
She would love to be a doctor. It turns out that Karlie Kloss’ dad is actually a doctor, and she’s always dreamed of one day becoming a pediatrician. She loves kids, and she loves the idea of working in medicine. She believes that if her modeling career did not pan out for her, that’s what she would have done with her life. She does love what she’s doing now, but she is not opposed to going back to school for her degree so she can obtain a medical degree and have something to fall back on when she’s older.
She likes the idea of a desk job
She doesn’t mean it, of course. I mean, does she? No, no way. Karlie Kloss travels so much for what she does that she is tired all the time. She sometimes wishes she could sit down at a desk for a day so she can work and then go home and just chill for the rest of the day. Sometimes she’s in multiple cities in one day and on many planes in the same day, and she is exhausted. Excuse us if we don’t feel all that sorry for her, though. Her job is pretty glamorous, even when it is not.
She didn’t know too much high fashion at first
Karlie Kloss knows everyone, and everyone knows her. However, when she received her first phone call about modeling for Chanel, she did not know who the most important face of the brand was at the time. It was Karl Lagerfeld, the most creative creative designer around, and she had no idea who he was. It was a rookie mistake on her part, and she has been very careful not to make the same mistake again. Now she knows who everyone in the business is; and that’s good since they all know who she is, too.
